This sculpture engages two key aspects of my practice: the way that materials change texture across time and exposure, as well as modularity in form. The work is built of scrap wood that had been rained on and discarded. I cleaned and organized the wood, and cut certain layers to emphasize the texture of the others. The scultupre´s structure, with its rebar frame and numbered pieces, is designed to be easily deconstructed and rebuilt.
