SIMON BOLIVAR APARTMENT
Make it stand out
Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
This is a renovation of a 86 m2 apartment in a five-unit apartment building in central Mexico City built during the 1950s. During the renovation, its unique turquoise bathroom tile was conserved and accented by a blue concrete bathtub/shower designed for the space. Its kitchen and hallways’ aggregate tile were conserved, while the bedroom and living room floors were restored to their original parquet flooring. The kitchen was opened substantially into the main living area and one of its walls was replaced with a specially designed built-in cabinet system that includes space for a washer and dryer, pantry, coat closet, and a refrigerator nook. The kitchen also features my modular designs in red and black Valchromat. Finally, a new sliding door enables the full living room wall to open to the street, allowing the apartment to breathe freely and integrating the balcony as part of the living space.
