LAMARTINE APARTMENT
MEXICO CITY, MEXICO
In collaboration with Estudio Felguerez
150.00 Sq. meters.
Estudio Felguerez was contracted to contribute all of the finishes, lighting, and furniture to this 1,600 square foot apartment in Mexico City´s upscale Polanco neighborhood. My role was to select the stone, steel, and wooden components, including designing the built-in carpentry (such as the bar and side tables) and wooden paneling. My aim was to make the restricted space of the apartment feel endless: for instance, I used repetitive paneling to give the sense of the hallway being elongated, and in the image above, created a screen out of staggered slats of walnut to divide the common space into a living room and TV room, while letting air and sound permeate.
